Little Brown Bear Bento

This is one bento which I made months ago, but haven't had the chance to post until today. The bear is made of meat patties and decorated with cheese, nori seaweed and blanched carrot. Basically, before you pan-fry the meat patties, you have to shape the patties to resemble a bear's head and ears. Once done, you pan-fry the patties, season and coat with any kind of sauce you like, let cool and then add the edible facial features.

Some of the side dishes include a small portion of mac n cheese, sauteed soy sauce chicken with corns, pan-fried prawn cakes, boiled edamame beans, cherry tomato n cheese and a kamaboko (fish cake) rose.

  5. Love this and the Rilakkuma bento of the previous post, bears are perfect for brown food, which can be difficult to be made 'pretty'. Well done!

  7. That's a lot of protein, yummy yum. :3 (I'm back! Need to catch up with lots of posts >_<)
I love the idea of the edamame on a skewer! Maybe I should do that for a party night, instead of cheese&grape skewers...just tons and tons and tons of edamame beans...

  8. ...Did Google erase my previous comment? I'll retype it, but sorry in advance if you end up having a double post!

So much protein, yummy yum! :3 (I'm back! Got a lot of posts to catch up on.) I love the idea of the edamame on a skewer. Maybe I should do that instead of the old cheese&grape skewers at parties...just tons and tons and tons of edamame...hmm...

    1. Hey, glad to see you here again, Tze :)! I still visit your site too from time to time to read your wonderful comics :)! I need to be more active again actually vitually. The last year has been crazy and I just didn't feel like blogging much. But currently I am working on an exciting project and in the next few (hopefully) days, I will also announce it in my blog - I can't wait...:)!!

Yeah, the edamame in sticks is a pretty neat idea right :)? You should definitely try it!

    2. I think you can get away with irregular posting because each of your posts is usually pretty detailed! And I'm curious to hear what you've been working on! Next to the comics I've also been writing drafts for something cooking related, but...meh...dunno if that'll ever turn into a real thing. We'll see. I'll be keeping an eye CG to see what the big surprise is! ;)

And don't worry about replying to every comment, I was procrastinating at work (but don't tell anyone! :p).

    3. Unfortunately I think I slightly get lazy in writing long blog posts - should change this soon...! And ha! Who doesn't procrastinate at work ;)?

Yay, stay tuned, hopefully it would be an exciting news for you too or everyone else who reads my blog :)!

Curious to see your cooking themed drafts turn tangible, you should make more bento or food related comics too, I love them :D)! Even though your daily comics are funny as well and I can't help but smile when I read your daily antics ;)!
