I made another bento today, isn't that great? I thought I would be too lazy to do so, but then I just did it. This time the bento box consists of two bear-shaped rice balls in penguin suits. I love the expression of the penguins...! I think I should make more penguins in the future because they're quite easy to make and they look adorable too :).
I also made chicken katsu to make my husband happy, because he loves chicken katsu or tonkatsu :).
By the way, I have had some people asking me how to make the ham/deli meat flower. If you're curious to know, please check my previous post here with the tutorial. If you look at 'Tutorials' under 'Labels' on the right, you'll find a few how-to tutorials. There are just six so far and some are not even so well-explained, but I hope they can be somehow helpful to people interested in bento making. When I have more time, I will try to make more bento tutorials, but it might still take some time because I am quite busy at the moment.
Have a great week ahead... - I am already longing for the weekend again (and it's not even over yet ;))!

Those penguins are adorable!
ReplyDeleteUntil now I've yet to make any animals onigiri in suits and I'm so tempted to make them but ever since my elder gal complained about her heavy sch bag almost everyday, I've lesser chances, almost not at all to make any bento now ;( Even if she wants to bring, it's either bread or noodles. Maybe I can just make balls of bread instead eh!? lol ;P
ReplyDeleteahhh ADORABLE. love the little animal bentos :D
ReplyDeleteOh, these the kids have to see, too cute!
ReplyDeleteCiao
A.
Penguin bears are lovely! I also adore chicken katsu! I think putting more bento tutorials is a great idea. I am often wondering how you make certain things (although having seen the deli meat flower tutorial I remember I was impressed how skilled you are and never tried to make it on my own!).
ReplyDeletei was just looking at the recent posts column at the side bar!! phew!! look al all those bentos, AWESOME!!

Another cute little bento! And that chicken looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteSo funny - I sell bento lunch carry cloths, but am a bento lunch novice! I have an impulse to surprise my son with a crowd of charaben to share with his friends on his 15th birthday in a week! Actually it is coming up on a Sunday, so on the next Monday, the 3rd of October...what do you all suggest? He can't eat nuts or peanuts, but otherwise he likes most everything. I can just see his group of 'cool teens' laughing but secretly loving it! Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteOh so cute!!!! I love the penguin bears. So adorable... who is eating them!? ;-)
